Bruce Lipton's The Biology of Belief

New sciences like Epigenetics is an amazing discovery in the field of medicine. For years, scientists assumed that cancer was caused by irreversible damage to some genes in our body. But in the last few years, a much more complex picture has emerged. It shows that some cancers are caused by epigenetic changes—tiny chemical tags that accumulate over time and can turn genes on or off. Unlike genetic damage, epigenetic changes can sometimes be reversed, and with treatments that are far less toxic to the patient.

Genetics may tell us that we are at high risk for certain types of diseases. However, with epigenetics scientists have discovered that this need not be true. We inherit genes, however what we eat, drink, think, feel and how we live life has an impact on the chemical tags that can turn a gene on or off. Check out this illuminating PBS video on Epigenetics.

I am a believer of the mind/body connection and the world of alternative and complementary medicine. The belief that your mind plays an important part in the overall welfare of your entire being and that sickness is not related to just one body part. Over the years, I have read many books on these topics. This book shows you how all that "woo woo" stuff relates to science.

Author Dr. Bruce Lipton is a former medical school professor and research scientist. His experiments have examined in great detail the processes by which cells receive information. The implications of this research radically change our understanding of life. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology; that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts. Dr. Lipton’s research is hailed as a major breakthrough showing that our bodies can be changed as we retrain our thinking.

If you are fascinated by the workings of the human body and mind, then this book is a must. And if you are a non-believer of the mind/body connection and think that it is all hokus pokus, then this book is for you too.Definitely a hopeful future for all us, as it relates to our health.

Here is a video on the same topic entitled "The Biology of Perception" by Bruce Lipton.

Gregg Braden's Fractal Time

Gregg Braden talks about his latest book, Fractal Time on Coast to Coast AM radio. He merges the ancient understanding of cycles with modern views of nature's patterns. Gregg Braden says: Such patterns or fractals repeat on a cyclic basis following the rhythms of nature. Therefore, we can predict the return of these conditions. Right now, we are nearing the end of a 5,125 year cycle, as shown in the Mayan calendar. Great civilizations in the past have collapsed at this juncture due to earth changes, and we are going to have to work together in a cooperative manner in order to not just survive, but to transcend. 2012 marks the end of a world age, and as we move into a direct alignment with the energy source in the center of our galaxy, we will see profound effects on the Earth.

Are we prepared? How can we get ready for this phenomenal alignment that we are fortunate enough to witness? Check out his talk.

Oprah's Soul Series

Oprah Winfrey is inspirational on many levels. The Oprah Soul Series is a collection of dialogues that Oprah has with guests about her favorite subject, the evolution of the soul. Tune in and check out these interesting and thought-provoking conversations on her website.

Gregg Braden's The Science of Miracles

The Eden Group's first Gregg Braden book was "The Science of Miracles". He talks about some revelations that demonstrate why we are not limited by the laws of physics and biology as we know them today. Why our DNA is a code that we can change and “upgrade” by choice. These revelations show us that we can reverse disease, redefine aging, create peace between nations, and even change reality itself through the focused power of belief and heart-based emotion. I have read Shakti Gawain's book "Creative Visualization" and practice it in my life daily. Braden's book, however, incorporates the science behind it and goes much deeper.

In a nutshell - we know that everything in our world is connected. That there is a subtle energy field that exists around us - an intelligent energy field. He shares 3 experiments conducted by physicists and the military that prove that our DNA actually communicates with this energy field. Princeton Physicist, John Wheeler believed that we live in a "participatory" Universe. He believed that there is a constant dialogue between us and the energy around us, that we create it as we live. Which means, we can change things.

Here is a teleseminar on Gregg Braden's book "The Science of Miracles". It is split into 7 parts, but if you take the time, it will change the way you see things forever. If not, at least a different perspective. I promise.

Welcome To Our World

The Eden Group began with the meeting of two people who knew from the moment they met that their destiny was entwined. Patricia and Kala met while volunteering at the Arts In Medicine Program at the Moffitt Cancer & Research Center. Their vision of creating a group of like minded people who were on a spiritual journey came to fruition in July 2008. Even though they did not know who would be part of this group, their belief in the "build it and they will come" philosophy became a reality.

Today the Eden Group is made of a diverse group of individuals - all on their own journey of self-discovery, awareness and spirituality. Our vision - to facilitate the creation of Eden groups in different parts of the world, all enjoined by links to each other. A wonderful way for all of us to learn and share our own journeys and stories.

Won't you join us?
